I had the pleasure of participating in the Resilience training event that took place on the 10th of May at 11:00 CET. It was great to connect with persons all over the world. We had a total of 6 participants 2 from Greece, 1 from Sweden, 1 from the United Kingdom, 1 from Italy and 1 from Spain.
It was a chance to network and get to know others as well as get in touch with our emotions and our feelings. This training allowed participants to evaluate their feelings and emotions and how to handle them. The training was hosted by our two Greek participants.
We did several activities that kept us engage and active throughout the training. We first introduced ourselves briefly before getting into the first activity. The first activity was assigning a colour to the following 5 emotions:
- Anger.
- Happiness.
- Sadness.
- Fear.
- Love.
We then had the outline of a person, then we coloured the part of the body with the colours of the 5 emotions assigned to demonstrate how and where one feels that particular emotion. The next activity we did was to name an emotion that begins with every letter of the alphabet. Additionally, we drew things that represented a space that makes us feel safe and calm and happy. We then discussed what we had drawn and why it makes us happy. Next, we drew a picture and the other participants had to guess what emotion the picture portrayed. We then did a collage together using the annotate on the whiteboard of a happy place each person adding an image. For example, one participant added a garden with flowers, one person added a campfire, another added a river, a plane etc. In the end it was a collage of things that make us all happy. There was also an activity where we each did a particular motion or movement and the the rest of the participants had to mimic each other’s movements. Another activity involved a video with music that was very calming and motivational at the same time. The final activity we had to choose 4 words and then make up a story or fairy-tale using those 4 words.
In the end the training was remarkably interesting, engaging and left me energised.
